Monaco vs Fenerbache 1
Head To Head: These sides have only met once previously which was last week's 2-1 win for Fenerbahce
Stats: Monaco have seen over 2.5 match goals in their last 5/5 UEFA Champions League games. Fenerbahce have lost 5 of their last 10 previous away games in the Champions League.
Reason: Both of these sides are pretty poor away from home in Europe but strong on home soil. Monaco will look to use their home advantage on Wednesday night to make it through to the next round of qualifying. The red & whites have won 19 of their last 28 home matches in European competition.
Germain and Falcao look to be relishing the double pivot system Leonardo Jardim has employed at Monaco. Both have had fantastic work rates and have been pulling defenders out of position to create space for the midfield to attack. Falcao has found the net in four of his last five matches with Monaco in all competitions.
Monaco did look shaky at the back last week and struggled with both the long ball and delivery from wide areas. However, Fenerbahce may be without Emmanuel Emenike for the return leg. He went off injured last week with an injury and his status is currently up in the air as to whether he’s going to be fit to play in the return leg in France.
Solid home form, Falcao scoring goals, Fenerbahce poor away form and Emenike not 100% fit leads me to believe this will be a win for the home side at about 2 odd.
