Wednesday's Super Single 3

Legia Warsaw vs Trenchin 1

Head To Head: These sides have only met once previously which was last weeks 1-0 Legia Warsaw win

Stats: AS Trencin have lost 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions

Reason: AS Trencin have lost a couple of important players over the summer including their top goalscorer Gino Van Kessel. The Dutch striker netted 17 goals in 33 appearances in the league last year but has gone to Slavia Prague for a £1m transfer fee. They are also set to lose their second top goalscorer, central midfielder Matus Baro to Trabzonspor in the next couple of days. This has affected their start to the domestic season and could be the reason why they’re in such bad form with four losses in their last five matches. Trencin had plenty of chances in the first leg with 15 shots, 8 on target and their failure to find the back of the net highlights how much they’re missing their two top goalscorers.

Legia on the other hand come into this tie with three wins in their last five games which included a 1-0 victory in the first leg and a 3-2 comeback win against Wisla Plock on the weekend. They’ll be full of confidence following these two results and look for a repeat performance of the first leg to put them through to the next round. The Polish side should have too much quality for a struggling Trencin and the decision to sell both top goalscorers could hurt them over the coming season unless somebody steps up.
